About the Gordon Group

Sing Australia Gordon was formed on September 7, 2012. It is part of the wider Sing Australia movement which has been operating for over 30 years.

Sing Australia's concept is simple: It accepts that everyone can sing and it makes no judgement on how well that happens. It is inclusive and welcoming of everyone. It is about making happy connections with people from all walks of life and demographics within groups and through performances – often impromptu. It is about having fun through singing.

Sing Australia's Mission: When you sing in Sing Australia, you are made very welcome. You bring to Sing Australia the voice you have. No judgement is made about your voice. You join with other members of Sing Australia to bring the joy of singing to the world around you and beyond. Together we promote singing as an important natural emotional expression for the benefit of our health and social well being. We make singing a widely acceptable activity in Australia for all people.

Sing Australia Gordon meets every Friday night for rehearsals at 7:15pm at Gordon East Public School Hall, on the corner of Rosedale and Cameron Roads, Gordon East, in Sydney. Although we call it "rehearsals", the evening is generally up to 2 hours of singing a great range of well-known songs, with no more than a few songs to learn or practise. We break for around 15 minutes for tea, coffee and chat.

We also perform from time to time in public at community events or at local residences such as retirement villages and nursing homes. We welcome an invite from the community to perform - it gives us a chance to show our skills, enjoy the show and to serve our community.

Please contact us if you enjoy singing and socialising, and the good health that it brings. Everyone is welcome to join us.
